Multitransport carries groupage (LTL) and full-load (FTL) freight from İzmir and its surroundings to the Benelux countries: the Netherlands, Belgium and Luxembourg. With distribution centres clustered around the ports of Rotterdam and Antwerp, the region is north-west Europe's logistics gateway, and we deliver to those DCs, to warehouses or straight to the consignee's door.

Groupage from İzmir to the Benelux

On the Benelux lane, a groupage (LTL) consignment is often headed not for a shop or a factory but for a distribution centre. Logistics hubs in the Netherlands and Belgium are where distribution to buyers across north-west Europe begins: a few pallets are stocked there, broken down and shipped on within the EU.

Your cargo is consolidated with other loads going the same way and charged on the loading metres (LDM), volume or weight it takes up. Because distribution centres usually receive by appointment, we confirm the delivery slot and the warehouse’s requirements (pallet type, labelling, packing-list format) before loading. A pallet that breaks the warehouse rules can mean a refused delivery or a new booking, so we generally recommend Euro pallets (120 × 80 cm), built within the warehouse’s height limit and properly labelled. If the consignee expects a pallet exchange, we agree that in advance too. Our groupage transport page covers consolidation, pricing and paperwork in more detail.

Full loads and express to the Benelux

For loads that fill the trailer or are tied to a fixed date, such as a retail promotion or a season launch, we run full-truckload transport, with the curtainsider going straight to the consignee’s warehouse. For urgent consignments that will not fill a truck we offer express minivan and lorry van transport.

All three are EU and Schengen members with no customs border between them, so one truck can easily deliver to more than one of them. By road, freight from Türkiye (Turkey) travels through central Europe and Germany. The region’s ports are also a common gateway for freight crossing the North Sea to the UK.

Netherlands

Rotterdam is Europe’s largest port, and together with inland hubs such as Venlo and Tilburg its hinterland hosts many of Europe’s main distribution centres. Many companies bring goods into the EU through the Netherlands partly because Dutch rules let import VAT be accounted for on the VAT return rather than paid at the border (the Article 23 licence). Once cleared there, goods can move on to neighbouring EU markets such as Germany and France with no further customs formalities. We deliver around Rotterdam, across the Randstad and along the Brabant–Limburg logistics belt.

Belgium

Antwerp, merged with Zeebrugge as the Port of Antwerp-Bruges, is Europe’s second-largest port and a major distribution hub for chemicals, retail and consumer goods. Belgian deliveries go to the Antwerp, Brussels, Ghent and Liège areas, and Belgium charges heavy vehicles over 3.5 tonnes a kilometre-based road toll. Belgium also has an import VAT deferral licence of its own, so we agree the import model with your consignee in advance.

Luxembourg

Luxembourg is a small country bordered by Belgium, Germany and France. Freight usually travels via Belgium or Germany on the same truck as other Benelux cargo, and deliveries mostly go to Luxembourg City and the industrial areas around it.

Documents and customs for the Benelux

  • Consignment paperwork: commercial invoice, packing list and CMR, plus the export declaration lodged in Türkiye.
  • Movement certificate: an A.TR for industrial goods in free circulation, or a EUR.1 (or an origin declaration) for agricultural products.
  • Delivery terms: under terms such as DDP, where the seller bears the import taxes, a seller not established in the EU may need to appoint a fiscal representative.
  • Transit: the T1 opened in Türkiye is usually discharged at the destination customs office in the Netherlands, Belgium or Luxembourg, where import clearance takes place.
  • Consignee side: the consignee’s EORI number and, if they use one, their customs agent’s details.
  • Bonded storage: goods can be held in a customs warehouse and released for free circulation as needed.

Frequently asked questions

Can I ship a part load from İzmir to the Netherlands?

Yes. We carry groupage (LTL) cargo collected in and around İzmir to the Netherlands, Belgium and Luxembourg. Your load is consolidated with other cargo heading the same way and delivered to the consignee's address, warehouse or distribution centre.

How do deliveries to Dutch distribution centres work?

Large distribution centres in the Netherlands and Belgium mostly receive goods by appointment, in a booked time slot. We get the booking and delivery conditions from your consignee before loading and plan the truck's arrival around them. If the warehouse has requirements such as pallet type or labelling, just share them at the quote stage.

Why do so many exporters distribute in Europe via the Netherlands or Belgium?

The logistics infrastructure around Rotterdam and Antwerp, bonded warehouses and strong road links make the region a convenient base for distribution across north-west Europe. Dutch rules such as the Article 23 licence, which lets import VAT be accounted for on the VAT return rather than paid at the border, also play a part. The result is one point of entry from which many north-west European markets can be served.

Do you ship groupage to Luxembourg?

Yes. We usually plan Luxembourg-bound cargo via Belgium or Germany, on the same truck as other Benelux freight. Deliveries mostly go to Luxembourg City and the industrial and logistics areas around it.

How long does groupage to the Benelux take?

Transit time depends on the destination city in the Netherlands, Belgium or Luxembourg, the route taken, border congestion and customs formalities. For appointment-based deliveries to distribution centres, the booked slot is part of the plan too. Your quote will include an estimated transit time for the destination city.
